War Machine 08

The flat colors. There's going to be steam and lights coming up from the surrounding vent, but I want to put the suit highlights in first.

And that's it from me for a while - vacation time!

War Machine 06

Progress report, really. Started blocking in the background, it's pretty simple forms really. Airbrushed the values, now I need to pull out details. WM is masked off, so disregard all the overspray, he's still the same as the last post. And I didn't bother the combine the scans as cleanly as I could, if you didn't notice the bar of black across the middle! No time for a third scan to get everything - close enough!

Lots of stuff going on this week before vacation, I don't know if I'll even get to finish this first stage before we leave...

War Machine 05

Pencils...

Now I need to draw in the background, and probably do the whole thing in one shot, while masking off the character. Then I'll go back to bring the form out with deeper shading, and blend in that soft airbrushing a lot more.

War Machine 04

The final lines for the suit. I reduced the gun a bit, not so much because I thought the size was too big, but more to justify him being able to carry enough bullets for it. Either way, not realistic, but still fun. Still a couple of details to draw in, but I'll do it with a real pencil, power supply on the chest, and closed hatches for missiles and such.

Now I need to set up a simple background, it's been in my head for awhile, just government standard concrete launch silo or something. The he'll be ready to go back to paper...

War Machine 03

A little more work, trying to figure out the legs. And a giant gatling gun stuck on there, just to see what it looks like.

Probably a little redonkulous.
