Four Final!

How the heck did H.E.R.B.I.E. get in there!?! Well, I was going to put a Galactus shadow in the background to fill in that compositional hole, but I couldn't get it to work, so I totally changed gears. And it makes me laugh...so there.

Four Update...

Here's a little more coloring, the lines I mean. Been super busy with work this week, it's goin' slow.

Four Flats.

Just mostly spent time last night doing Mr. Grimm's cracks, and then started in on the coloring. Still not sure what to do with the background. I'm tossing around either the standard smoky color kaleidoscope, or maybe some something more high tech, like a computer readout kind of thing.

Final Superman.

I broked it. When I saved the version I posted last Friday, that became the ONLY version. LOW-RES and FLAT! Darn. That's what I get for playing late. So I did the old school coloring on it, but no colored lines. I'm bummed; lowres his hair looks weird, you can't really see the Daily Planet in the background, and the cars down below really do look like ants.

I had so much real work to do, I didn't have any time to do any playwork, but I finally finished this Cap piece.

Hellboy pt. 3

Well here it is. Crazy paint goin' every which way, Hellboy wielding a fiery sword in a shower of sparks.

It's very red and yellow.

TOYS!

I screwed off yesterday and didn't work at all. I played in Disneyland. So there. But, now all the toys based on the characters I designed for the Transformers The Movie video game are hitting the stores. YAY!

Hellboy pt. 2

Here's a little more detail, some more colors pulled out. Next pass will be final detail and color.

Hellboy has begun.

Here is the first stage of the Hellboy piece. All the broad strokes of color laid in. Next is some tightening of the details and additional colors. Not too tight though, I'm trying really hard to be...'painterly.'

Page O' Spidey!

I was stuck in a waiting room yesterday, so I got designing the bank robbers for the Robin layouts. Then I got to doodling Spidey, and it turned into a whole page of character sketches. So there.

Here are the original Robin pages I did about four years ago. I really like the gag, so I'm just going to redo it in the animated style, with color this time.

Still working on the details before I get into the actual new page layouts, but they're coming soon!

And here are the last two on my list, Lobo and Robin. Lobo will be flying in space over a rocket. I guess. I don't really know the character that well, I couldn't find an image of his bike that was very definitive, so I just focused on him as a standalone. And there's the design for Robin I'm going to go with...Bats snuck in there too, a little bit!

All right, I'm back in the saddle. I've worked out a few of the illustrations, here are the first two layouts, Fantastic Four and Superman!

I'm starting THREE projects this week, so I'll be rolling these personal ones out at a little slower pace...but still something new every day.
