Bumblebee and Spike 02

And now for some Autobots.

Bumblebee is nearly finished, just need to nitpick around him and add in some more details, then I'll get going on Spike.

Megatron 04 pt. 2

Final!

I was actually a little worried that there would be a conflict of background vs. Megs, but I'm pretty happy with how the lighting turned out.

Now I'm going to switch gears, and do an Autobot...Spike and Bumblebee!

Megatron 04 pt. 1

Still a little behind on Megs, still have to do the highlights/lighting...I'll post the final a little later today.

But here is the background final - Space Bridge!

Megatron 03

All the block-in is completed, but I still need to add in more fine detailing. In the color comp, I had a generic space background, but to keep the Soundwave pic separate from Megs, I decided to place the Space Bridge in the background. I'll come up with some crazy energy tornado-ing up into the sky...

Soundwave 05

OK. B&W done...all details finished, mushed in a background...still need to work it a little, and add/move some stars around. I threw in an overlay of a rocky ground texture, but it'll be knocked way back when colors and shadows get added.

I have no idea what time of day to make it, reflecting on the characters, I guess it will have to be REALLY bright moonshine? I'll fudge this one, but if it stands out from the other five pics, I might have to readdress it.

On to color...

Soundwave 04

Continuing the blocking in, and just now starting to add additional details...

Soundwave 03

Starting back in on the robots...here's the block-in for Ravage. Since I did fairly tight pencils, it's a fairly tight block-in, in that all the large shapes are near final, but corners, creases, seams, and additional details are yet to be defined.

Now on to Daddy, with Laserbeak...

Theme Park Review - Viking 05

The final design for Theme Park Review.com's Scandinavian Tour. I wish I had enough scratch to go, looks to be a lot of fun! I got all the flag colors of the countries listed, which was easy, because there are only four colors between them! But I made all the text red, white, and blue, to mimic the Norsky flag. Yeah, that's right, Finland.

This is the little badge that goes on the front of the shirt.

Theme Park Review - Viking 04

Colors! So here it is, but I still need to add in the typography, and create a badge for the front of the shirt.

I like it, I know my fellow Vikings will like it too, TPR gave me the F.A.! so it sounds like it works for them....

Critically, I wish I had more time with these to refine the character, the hands kind of bug me. The budget is so tight on these, that pretty much what gets put down on paper turns into the final, not a lot of time working out details, and it's been long time since I've done something in this style. So, pretty successful, but the hypercritic in me can see room for improvement. Luckily I have two more to do, with a little extra time to think before I draw!

Theme Park Review - Viking

Well, I'm getting back into a routine finally...we have nearly all of our boxes unpacked, but we still have a 'furniture jumble' going on in the living room.

I have a quick TPR job to do before I get back to finishing these Transformer images, but I can tell you some very interesting development has been going on regarding my TF work - I'm finally working my connections!

Now for TPR tours '09. The first is a tour of Scandinavia, and I get to do a Viking theme. Since I'm a Son of Norway, I'm very excited to do this one. These are the sketches and development for the image. Very fast, I only get about an hour or so to figure out composition and character design, it's a very tight budget for these. From these I'll tighten the composition and do a layout to take to the final line art...

A little something....

Still swamped under...here's something I found while putting my new office together, a couple of drawings for a proposal.

Universal was trying to make a deal with Metallica to do a Vigilante 8/Road Warrior type game, featuring a soundtrack that was all Metallica. This was St Anger time, and I think there was even a teaser on the CD or DVD for that release.

Anyways, there was talk to build up a battle car for them to take on tour to promote the upcoming game. So I got the call to do a super fast proof of concept and this is it.

Soon after, the whole deal fell through, and there was no game. Too bad, I thought it was a cool idea. Guitar Hero Metallica is probably a more appropriate game for them anyways...

Why you no post, Kenny?

Moving. Bllllaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgggg! Hate it.

Haaaaaaaate it.

And I ordered a new desk (leaving the old one behind!) and it STILL hasn't arrived...so I have the ol' computer sitting on a flat file, and it's breaking my back. It's about 6 inches too short for me. So minimal computer time for me, I have to save my back for work.

Give you non-comment leaving lurkers more time to tell me which Jazz head to use...
