A finish on Toto, I found a picture to work from of the breed, instead of the actual dog actor, much easier!

Yes, I am still working on this, I've been dragging my heels a bit waiting on the writer, but I have to get this done to complete the set, and move on. I have a lot of stuff piled up ready to go after I get done on TF2 in a couple weeks.

Just a few more elements to compose and sketch, and I'll start piecing the final composition together...

Skippin' down the yellow Brick Road. This is an accent that will be placed somewhere around the central composition, to fill in a hole. It will stay fairly rough, but I need to work on the detail on Dorothy and the Lion...and find something for Toto. The original shot has him following, but I might try him in the front.

Dorothy, second pass...much better, still not quite right, but good enough to use in the comp. I faded on Tot, I'll probably find just that type of dog to use for reference, instead of trying to hunt down a decent screen shot.

Here's the take on the trio of misfits...I like the Tin Man, the Scarecrow still is not quite right, and I think the Cowardly Lion lacks some definition, the source I had for him was very low-res, still on the hunt to find a better pic, to better capture the textures of his make-up...

I did start the Vampire piece, but it's still a block-in at this point, but I'm also dabbling in an idea for an Oz piece for my wife. She's a superbigfan of the movie, and I absolutely refuse to dress up as an Oz character for Halloween this year. I'm a cowboy, dagnabbit, but I'll throw her some love...

Rocket Launchers

Some sketched out designs for the wolves' rocket launchers for the next keyframe. Rather tahn design in the pic, I wanted to try some different looks before I start the final...just roughed out, they still look a little toy-like, need to tighten one up before final. I'm leaning towards the double barrel ones...

Here's a couple take on the frame. I have to run it past the writer to see which one he prefers before I take it to final. While it sits with him, it will give me time to finish off the Wolf Hunt...

One more to do, I have combine all these elements from the graphic novel in to a single frame. Vampire leading some half formed werewolves on an assault.

Very scary, no one likes werewolves with missile launchers...

Just a taste, I don't have time to scan the whole thing and piece it together...last night I did all the highlights, tonight I'll do the mid-tones and add some more color, and get it ready for the final pass.

Last Friday at the airshow in Miramar

F22, F16, and a P-51 doing an era Heritage Flight.

A F18 and a Corsair era Heritage Flight .

F22 mocking us with his bamb bay doors open. That plane is no joke, it's demo was the most amazing thing I've ever seen, it was more like a spaceship, than a jet.

Pale Horse 02

Some more development sketches for the piece. I scrapped the 'just standing there' idea, and decided to go with something more dynamic. Some more helmet exploration, I kind of like the notion of the blinder face mask, maybe I'll add some vents for some ominous light to spill out.

I struggle with the pen. Too much black, too opaque, too much everything. Still working on it...
